Rossi 22LR Galler Gun - "Blast" Came Past Hammer...
Well guys, I may not say this correctly, but had an odd thing happen with a Rossi Gallery rifle today.
I put about 50 rounds of Federal through it, and switched to a box of Eley Force 22. I had a light strike of two during my session (or so I thought). Then, the last round I fired also blew back towards me around the hammer. I'm OK, was wearing glasses, etc.
I bought it home and looked down the barrel. There's no stuck round...all looks OK. I called Rossi...who suggested I not use that ammo and welcomed me to send it in.
My thinking is that it must be ammo related. I'm sure I pulled the trigger when this occurred, so I'm guessing it's not a OOB discharge.
I'd be very thankful for your thoughts...

The base of the brass could have ruptured or cracked, releasing gasses.
Did you find the spent round that did it?

Just curious, is yours the newest production gallery 22 with the push button trigger guard safety or the older Model 62 model with just a half cock ?
I have an older 62 carbine in nickle finish and it functions flawless, It does not have the trigger disconnect and can be fired holding the trigger and pumping the action, it's a hoot with a full tube of short CB caps
Id suspect the ammo is the cause, Id try a variety of brands before sending it in, some 22's can be very ammo finicky

Mine is the newer with the push button safety.
bogey1 - when I cycled the action the brass went past the shooting line and I couldn't retrieve it. Or, see it well enough from where I was to see if the case had indeed cracked/split.
