Reloading Corrosive Cases
I have quite a lot of once fired SL43 brass that I used several decades ago in 30-06. I know it was corrosive and inspecting the cases I note some salt like deposits predominately on the inside at the neck/shoulder and down at the web.
Anyone know if this brass can be cleaned up and reloaded?
How would they be cleaned?

Re: Reloading Corrosive Cases
I know the very best thing for cleaning corrosive salts is warm water. I know brass does not rust but I don't know if corrosive salt corrode brass. Perhaps take a case and try to squeeze it with pliers to see if it is brittle and weak.

Re: Reloading Corrosive Cases
I used to soak my black powder cartridges after firing them with Goex, in white vinegar, rinsed them in water, then baking them on a cookie sheet to make sure they dried, then tumbled them. The vinegar removed anything
corrosive.
Never bake them over 350 degrees though, too much heat will change the molecular structure of the brass.( or so I was told)
