Re: "license" to buy ammo at Wal-Mart
I've bought 9mm by the case in Walmarts near Easton, Allentown, and Reading. Nobody ever asked me anything. And all the gun counter people were very nice.

Can't wait 'til Chinese industry/economy implodes, they have their OWN revolution (and IT'S coming!), and then China-Mart goes outta business WITH them.

Re: "license" to buy ammo at Wal-Mart
Only once was I asked if the ammo I was buying was for "rifle or handgun".
I replied, "no, it's for a howitzer" with a straight face.
They have not asked me that since...
Another example of corporate paranoia, they are afraid that if the sell the ammo, they will be open to a lawsuit. (And yinz think that folks on the interwierd are Tin Foil Hat wearers...)This space open for sponsorship

Re: "license" to buy ammo at Wal-Mart
"Apparent consent" is a great example of legal precedent that irrationally circumvents the 4th Amendment. This policy encourages sloppy police work by assuring officers that their mistakes will inevitably be forgiven in court. The idea that police can render their own actions legal simply by genuinely believing them to be is incompatible with the general legal principle that ignorance is not an excuse for error.

Re: "license" to buy ammo at Wal-Mart
I bought some .223 and 22LR in a wally world here in Georgia. She asked for ID so I gave her my military ID. Then she said she needed my drivers license. I said my mil ID was better because it with it I got paid.
Still wanted to see my DL. How stupid.

Re: "license" to buy ammo at Wal-Mart
I wouldn't taint my beloved forearms with cheap shit Chinese sweatshop ammo. You get what you pay for. I'd much rather buy ammo that keeps Americans working than cheap crap that might blow up in my face because I'm a cheapskate.
Buy American. It's the patriotic thing to do.

Occasionally people will ask for my license because of the age thing. I take off my hat to reveal my solar panel, and ask if that will be good enough, since the gray in my beard might be dye. It works just about every time, and usually gets a pretty good laugh.

Re: "license" to buy ammo at Wal-Mart
As much as I want to buy from a REAL gun shop, .22lr ammo is still cheapest at Wally World. Ive been carded a couple of times and up until recently I was asked if the ammo was for a rifle or pistol (Im 24) I just tell them its for a rifle out of habit. But Ive got to know some of the gun counter guys there pretty well so it's never a hassle anymore. I just walk up and ask for my brick and they pull it out. I am ashamed to admit that for my SKS I always buy Wolf ammo. Not that I dont want to buy American, it's just that I like to shoot a lot with my SKS and can't afford even Winchester white box for a whole day at the range.
