So what's the deal with NFA in Cambria County?
Anyone know? I'm thinking about contacting the Sheriff about it as the last update on NFA on this site states that the Sheriff said he'd have to call the ATF before he signs off on it. Anyone else have any info or thoughts?

PAFOA County Information for Cambria County.
Our contact with the Cambria county sheriff was basically that he had no idea about NFA.Dan P, Founder & President, Pennsylvania Firearm Owners Association

Kolar is pretty fair to gunnies , set up a time and go see him. Are you from Johnstown proper ? I'll bet Foust would sign off if asked , shot with Craig a few times, good guy ,but Johnstown politics stink.

I'm originally from Pittsburgh, living in Johnstown now...I could get one to sign off where I used to live no doubt, but here, I'm only 2 years new to the area and haven't really made the right contacts.

Your best bet is probably to just ask. If you have a carry permit that's to your advantage. Call up, ask if they are familiar with the process, if not ask them if they'd be willing to meet with you and bring information. I'm pretty sure that if you explain the process and conduct yourself in a professional, courteous manner they'll sign.

Have you been to Allegheny Trade Co.? It is in Duncansville, about 45 mins away from Johnstown.
The Trade Co. the only class III dealer in the area that I know of, and if you give them a call or stop by, they may have more info on local issues. (I've had nothing but really good experiences with their shop)
I don't know why I did not think to recommend this weeks ago -- better late than never.
