PHILADELPHIANS PLEASE HELP SAVE THE PHILADELPHIA FIRE DEPT.
MAYOR NUTTER IS CLOSING 5 ENGINES AND 2 LADDER COMPANIES IN PHILADELPHIA TO SAVE MONEY. WHAT HE IS DOING IS TAKING A MUCH NEEDED RESOURCE AND LIFE SAVING TOOL AWAY.

THIS IS TOO DANGEROUS.

Re: PHILADELPHIANS PLEASE HELP SAVE THE PHILADELPHIA FIRE DEPT.
Watch for the bait and switch. Nutter announced a number of budget cuts. Now comes the (not unwarranted) hue and cry about losing vital, life saving services. Shortly we will hear Nutter come out and say "well, we could keep the services. If we raised some taxes....."
If you don't know who your state legislators are go here:

put your zip plus 4 in the box in the upper right hand corner.

For the cost of ONE day in Iraq ($720 Million), you could make 72 Philly sized cities meet their budget needs.

Philadelphians elected him so now they can live with him.
Oh wait! Fat Eddie called to say the rest of the commonwealth is just going to have to cough up the revenue to bail Philthy out of another self inflicted mess. The older I get, the better I used to be.

Re: PHILADELPHIANS PLEASE HELP SAVE THE PHILADELPHIA FIRE DEPT.
Federal money and state money are different colors. The money for OIF/OEF isn't state money, no connection. Perhaps if they managed the money they collect in taxes better they could pay for fire protection. The choices are in the hands of the politicians who are elected. If they make bad decisions then you lose.
Next election cycle you choose another. If they screw up then choose again. We sleep soundly in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm.
