Concealed carry for tight clothing?
Obama's winning of the election finally hit the last nail in convincing my mom to get her LTCF as soon as possible.
We were talking casually about the matter when I brought up the point of having the gun easily accessible. She agreed with me that having the gun on a purse is not the most prudent choice, but when we analyzed the possibilities, I realised that there isn't really anywhere to conceal a gun on the average female on a regular basis...
My mom never wears jackets or baggy pants of any kind (jackets in winter of course but then when she walks into a building she takes it off). I cannot think of any way to conceal that gun outside of a purse...
My mom is a little bit semi-automatically challenged. She feels most comfortable with a revolver, further adding to the bulge problem.

If I remember correctly the only handgun you have is a 4" .357.
I say you need to start off with a smaller gun and get your mom a handgun class to get her acquainted with how to use different types of guns confidently.

Re: Concealed carry for tight clothing?
It was simply brought up in normal conversation, and as you know, what with Obama as our fine president (lol), the sooner my parents get their LTCFs the better.
We "only" have a .22 target pistol and a .357 s&w, yes, but we've rented a variety of weapons over the year.
My mom has fired a wide variety of handguns, and in her interest, particularly a wide variety of .38s (the highest round she is 100% comfortable with). She handles up to .45acp well, but she still HIGHLY prefers the simplicity of revolvers and despite my extremely adament attempts, I cannot convince her of the advantages of the pistol for her situation =P. Obviously her getting a LTCF would also mean her getting a more realistic carry revolver, which we will put thorough research into don't you worry, but part of that selection involves determining just how the gun is to be carried, wherein lies the problem.
Furthermore you didn't even address the question... It's like you automatically took my mother and I as ignorant

Sounds like a candidate for a S&W Ladysmith. There are purses on the market with a concealed pocket on the rear for handguns.

I never said, or tried to imply your mother was ignorant. We just bought my mom a gun and she has just begun carryng.
First thing you need to do is get a smaller gun. Personally, I think a .38 snubnose with a clipdraw and lasergrips would be about the ideal setup.
Or rent her a Kahr cw9 and see how she likes it.

Re: Concealed carry for tight clothing?
P-11's mom here. I got a Walther P22 because that was least intimidating for me. Now that I am getting used to it, I am thinking about moving up to a M.
I have a lot of trouble with racking some of the guns I've handled and my little 22 is easy for me to use. I have a quick clip on it and it's all I use. I do not carry a purse either and because the gun goes inside the pants, it doesn't print very much. I am impressed by the caliber your mom has been able to handle. I also didn't like the automatics at first but after P-11 spent a lot of time drilling with me I am very comfortable with it. I do not like revolvers, they seem to sting my hand and I had trouble with the recoil.
Bring her to a group shoot if you can and let her try some guns out. Let her decide and work with her until she truly feel comfortable with the gun she chose. Be patient and good luck.
BTW way to go MOM!

Can't get much more simple than true safe action pistol.....
I am a HUGE fan of a G19 for concealment, just gotta have the right holster
Get a .22 conversion kit for range use, switch back to 'Real" ammo for carry..
JMO of course......
Glock Pistols.......So simple a Caveman could fix them!
