Safe Door Pistol Storage
Does anyone use the inside door face to hang and store their pistols/revolvers? I really would like to do it. It would free up alot of room. I have seen there are some kits for the door. I really would hate to close the safe door and hear crashing. That would piss me off greatly. And I'm pissed off enough today.
Any advice, experience or suggestions would be greatly 'preciated.

Re: Safe Door Pistol Storage
There was a thread here that shown a system a guy put together using thread pools. It looked really sharp. The company that I bought my safe from sells a door system. So I am confident that there would be crashes with mine. I can't say the same for other safe companies.
I had thought of using some cheap nylon holsters on the door.troll Free. It's all in your mind.

The door kits use heavy duty velcro strips. These strips are fastened to the door with rivits. After installation wap the strip(s) around the handgun. They are not going anywhere. Make sure you are aware where any shelves are located. Don't put any hanging strips where the handgun may come in contact with a shelf. Door will not close. I found this out the hard way.

Re: Safe Door Pistol Storage
I have a Remington safe and it did not come with any door storage. I ordered door storage from Cabela's but ran into a problem. The unit they carry is made for a door that uses a 3/8" liner. By the way, the "line" is drywall. Mine has 1/2" liner. I had to make a couple of brackets for mounting the "sheet" that the velcro holsters ride on. It works very well for it's purpose, but heed the warnings about placement vs. shelf contact.
Of course I am speaking of the guns I once owned before they ALL fell overboard on my last fishing trip in the Atlantic Ocean. It was sad day for all the gun owners who were with me as we all lost ALL our guns that day.

They have a door unit in the latest sportsmans guide. I think it was $35.00.

Again, not my safe, I just kept the pic's for future reference. But I like this look!

Re: Safe Door Pistol Storage
Um....It appears I don't have enough guns.
I hang eight pistols on the door of my safe using pegboard hangers. Just be sure to drill the correct size hole (two per hanger), and in the correct spacing. I used a black magic marker and a hanger to get the correct alignment.
Just hang the gun, muzzle up, from the trigger guard.
But it would never hold as many as in the photo. Nice setup.
