Gunsmith for a Para C7 LDA?
Anyone know of a good gunsmith anywhere near Lebanon (17042) that has worked with Para Ords?
I have a C7, and I have some grip safety concerns. I stripped it down to the frame in efforts to identify the problem, but was unable to figure out the problem. It seems the C7 is a different monster compared to my other 1911's.
Thanks in advance,Last edited by Fr0sty; October 31st, 2008 at 07:29 PM.

A LDA is a different beast. Here is Todd Jarrett's e-mail todd@toddjarrett.com He is Para's sponsored shooter and shoots a LDA.
He should be able to direct you to a good smith for a LDAFriends don't let friends buy Taurus's

Re: Gunsmith for a Para C7 LDA?
I talked to some guys at Para about working on my LDA when I was at the NRA Convention this year. In this area it seemed that George over at EGW was the one they recommended. I haven't had the time to reach out for them yet to have that gun looked at. If you contact them before me, let me know how it goes!

Re: Gunsmith for a Para C7 LDA?
Thanks for the info, maybe you can help me.
Does your grip safety have vertical play? As if the arm isn't pushed it all the way back? In other 1911s that I have its controlled by a leaf spring. When I took mine a part I learned there was no leaf spring in this, and it was arm controlled. I suspect maybe the previous owner changed tails or something. The firearm is still 100% functional and everything does its job well, I just don't like play in something when *to my knowledge* it shouldn't be there.
Do you have any contact for EGW?
Thanks again

I haven't noted any play in the grip safety but also haven't had occasion to detail strip the gun as of yet. I've heard it is a task not for the faint of heart.
You can find EGW at http://www.egw-guns.com/
