    Default 40 S&W load data

I've having a time getting load data for 165 gr Rainier plated HP. I'm using Unique and Bullseye for my 9mm & 45ACP. Does anyone have suggestions?

Lymans#48 shows loads for a 165 gr. TMJ so they should work ok, might want to start at the lower loads first to see what they do.

Unique: starting load 5.4 grs. max load 6.0 grs

Bullseye: starting, 4.8 grs. max 5.4 grs

Power Pistol: starting 6.3 grs. max 7.0 grs

    There are others also.

The Rainier web page tells you to use the same load as a lead bullet. The plating is very thin. I use the max load in the Lyman book and have not had any trouble.

I will have to add one to my library. Thanks for the input.

I'm loading 180 grain Rainiers in front of 5.0 grains of Unique with an OAL of 1.130". This is a minimum load and barely duplicates factory velocity.

Just go with a lead load and you'll be fine.
