Another kitchen table change to the 10/22...trigger stop
I had taped a piece of wood to the guard behind the trigger, forming a trigger stop which worked well. Saw an ad for a trigger return plunger that is longer than stock, thus serving both as a trigger return plunger AND trigger stop. Aha! I can make one of those. And so I did, applying files to a steel rod chucked in a drill.
I knew the basic dimensions from having measured the stock plunger, and added a little more to the new one that I knew would be a tad too long. Then assembly, try, fail, disassemble, shorten a little more, re-assemble, try, fail, disassemble, shorten,
re-assemble...with the the fifth reduction and reassembly the needed length was achieved.
The dome of the plunger that contacts the rear of the trigger is highly polished and is lightly lubed. Came out very nice, if I do say so myself. There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.
