Bout time.. THATS what they need to dedicate everything on.. Keeping the Democrats from getting a Filibuster proof majority..

I don't really get why there are harping on Reagan when it was Carter who had the fillibuster. Then again I really have little interest in british commentary on American Politics.

Everything about that statement is wrong. lol

Carter didn't need a filibuster.. It's a tactic used by the minority in congress to stop a bill from being voted on. If a party can get 60 votes (a "controlling" majority") then they can stop a filibuster.

If you remember the Republicans tried to do away with the filibuster during there time

And it wasn't harping on the Republicans, they just said that the Republicans are looking at the bigger picture now, trying to salvage what they can so they have a say in congress..

Bill Frist was trying to get it yanked when they were running the show...
And ironically, Bill's first ever vote in the senate was to preserve the filibuster when THEY were in the minority.

These idiots must just think they're going to rule forever, lol...

Good, its only a twisted Schadenfreude I wish for Obama to win so the Republicans can implode and return to a real small government republican (as in pro-republic) party.
