Taurus 85 .38spc, carry?
greetings all,
My GF has decided to go with a Taurus 85 .38spc, mainly for its size, and the nice look of it, (the one with the gold accents), she wants to use this for her PD CCW and i just wanted to know peoples opinions on them, i am not a revolver person and do not know the effectiveness of the .38spc. or the actual quality of this specific gun, (other then the Taurus name) so if you could give me a lil info to pass along to her that would be great!.

It's a good carry piece. I bought one for my dad a few years ago for off duty puroses. He loved it, I shot it and liked it. He used to carry it in a Bianchi Lightning holster, had a bobbed hammer on it. I think as long as she's comfortable with it, it's a good piece.

Yeah we went out to a few different places and she checked different ones out, was hoping to find a S&W M&P9c but seemes no one in my area carries S&W, that was one she really wanted to "feel out"

from what i've heard from people who own them, and from everything i've read, their snubbies rate up there with S&W. as far as .38's effectiveness, 'm under the impression that they're as effective as 9mm. google is your amigo.

I have one and am very happy with it, both in workmanship and in accuracy.
I think for a revolver in that price range you can't really do better.

if its the all steel....they are very reliable. the lightweights....not so reliable. i carry the all steel with some gold dot short barrel rounds. i feel safe with that combo.
