Default Rifle range past the fairgrounds is closed

FYI. Went there today to find it was closed. Drove 3hrs round trip since they also closed rt6 range. As I said before if you are responsible for both of these being closed at the same time I truly hope you get genital herpes. Love, Yoder.

Pennsyvania game commission web site says it will be open in late October. Don't hold your breath.

The range up past the Wayne County Fairgrounds is STILL closed. It's been closed for more than a year as far as I know. Sign says under construction, but I've seen more worker activity at a cemetery.

I drove up to the range on Tuesday, 8/25, and it was open. A local guy who was riding his bike stopped and talked to me for awhile, and he was surprised to see it open.

It didn't last long. I came back on Thursday, 8/27, and once AGAIN, it was closed. The best part was a sign hanging from the chain crossing the road stating that the range was closed for 8/26, even though it was 8/27. The sign also indicated that the range was closed 3 days the previous week (that's assuming someone in charge can read a calendar).

For those who, like myself, drive a distance to enjoy this range, forget it. It's not worth the gamble. Looks like it's going to be closed more than it's open until they (PGC) get their act together.

Yes, I believe all of the work they wanted to do at that site is now finished. I stopped there again in early September, and it appeared that they were just finishing up.
