Apparently the bill is being amended and apparently FOAC has signed onto the amended bill. My rep sent me a copy of the bill showing the amendments marked up. Couldn’t figure out how to attach PDF so here is the screenshots. It’s only two pages.

So basically it was amended to simply say, wear a mask and do the social distancing thing. Why not just strike the bill down and add clubs to the essential list for recreation

I am hopeful that a different amendment will be passed and that HB 2440, as passed, will state: Notwithstanding any law or regulation to the contrary now existing or enacted in the future, consistent with the inviolate rights enumerated by Article 1, Sections 21 and 25 of the Pennsylvania Constitution, firearm or ammunition product manufacturers, retailers, importers, distributors, shooting ranges, and hunting facilities, inclusive of their employees and agents, shall always constitute life-sustaining businesses in the Commonwealth, which shall never be shuttered or limited in their ability to produce, provide, sell, or otherwise offer firearms, ammunition, firearm accessories, their component parts, and all services and training related to firearms and hunting.

I believe the short answer is because the governor refuses.

Unfortunately the Democrats would never back freedom.

I heard from my Berks dem rep that he opposes this bill. I expected that.
I told him that is why he is the only Dem I vote for.

I understand that a party-line vote just occurred with my proposed language amending HB 2440

P.S. I am receiving conflicting information of the actual text in the amendment, as it may not have been my proposed text, but instead an amendment that was still insufficient IMO. I am waiting to see the official amended version, when it is uploaded.
