    Default Car15 Clone?

i really like the looks of these rifles. i currently have a Colt 6920. is this just a matter of getting a stamp then buying the upper>? ive seen some online for sale without the bolt group but id prefer to buy a complete rifle. im not into swapping parts every time i want to shoot. ive also seen the ones from Brownells and Troy but not interested in them. i like the EXACT setup below.

Well , that one would have to be a SBR. Barrel and PERMANANTLY attached flash hider must be at least 16in.

Many later USGI CAR-15s (XM-177E1) were built on repurposed M-16 receivers.

If it's a true moderator, that thing also needs a tax stamp since it's considered a suppressor.

I built a Colt Commando 733 clone a few years ago, if that counts. Its an 11.5" carbine with the C7 upper and no moderator.

I SBRed a Nodak Spud A2 gray lower and the upper is a Colt, but I may replace it because it's a large pin upper and my lower is not. It currently has an offset bushing in the front takedown hole of the upper.

I used a spikes 11.5" light weight barrel assembly and colt skinny handguards. I can't remember where I got the car stock, but it is a reproduction. Oh, and the tube is a two position, also NDS.

This is the only picture I have handy. The other rifle is an AKS74U clone, from an 86 Tula kit.

I’ll take both of them! Nice work.... Overall length with your 11.5” barrel and bird cage looks to be about the same as the 10.5” barrel with moderator and with one less tax stamp. That works for me.

    If you're looking for parts:

    Stripped C7 upper:

Spikes CHF 11.5" barrel (would need populated)
