This guy has a fantastic, AR-gunsmithing-centric channel on YouTube. He goes through "physicals" where he checks parts (a lot of BCGs) for every tolerance spec possible with a multitude of fancy gauges. He also does "autopsies" of destroyed parts to look at root cause. Very interesting AND a good resource before potentially buying parts for some 3rd party QC checks.

Pretty small channel now but it's great content so give him a look.

I just watched his "physical" of a Geissele BCG. Pretty interesting.

Obviously many of us won't have the gauges and tools he does, but just knowing his protocol for checking a BCG is extremely valuable knowledge.

Another thing I learned is to spin a bolt back and forth when putting it back into a carrier, rather than just forcing it in, in order to minimize potential damage to gas rings.

Tools are overrated. LOL

I caught a glimpse of some of his tools while watching that PSA upper video.
Haha! He would have a coronary if he saw the "tools" I posted in my 7.62x39 pistol build thread!
