    Thumbs down Carbondale Guns

Bought an AK from them at the Valley Forge gun show and he owed me a AK Mag (told me it came with two, didn't have two in the box) and wrote it on the receipt...
After a couple weeks of thinking he'd get in touch with me after giving him my number, nothing yet.

I called last week 10/14 and again left my number and asked how I was going to get my mag. I called again today and no such courtesy of return phone call.

I'd avoid this shop at the gun show circuit as well as their store in Carbondale.

I've been in there a couple times. I think I have more stuff in my basement. The stuff he did have there was junk.

I got a call from the owner yesterday and finally got it worked out that 'it's in the mail'. Hope it works out.

Walked in there once a while ago, the stuff he had was junk and his attitude was worse than weavers. Suprise he is still in business.

Actually I was at Trops the other day and it wasn't so bad. Nobody helped me, but that's normal for Trops. What was different was Avery (the guy with the vest and shooting glasses) checked me out and was almost nice. Had a lot more stuff in the vest, musta been tired from the extra weight!

Buying from John at the Gun Show struck me as a not-so-bad experience. He was a little too eager to offload some rifles but I was in the market and I think he picked up on my inexperience. He was friendly and I bought an M95 Steyr from him. It was in okay shape but he also said he could get me 1000 rounds for $350. Well, I have tried calling him every day for two weeks and the blow off is apparent. The only reason I bought the gun was because he said he could get the ammo, little did I know. When you call the store all you get is a FAX machine answering.

I would avoid this guy. If I am wrong I will come back and post again, but I have a funny feeling I got duped.

I think the store front is just a convenience; he does most of his selling at shows.

Gun Toter's is right around the corner on Betty Street in Eynon, MUCH better shop!
