trout season now open
per Penn-Live, trout season opened today at 8AM.
The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission suddenly opened the 2020 trout fishing season statewide at 8 a.m. today.
In the announcement posted to the commission’s website, the commission said the unexpected early opening was done “in consultation with the Office of the Governor, Pennsylvania Department of Health, and Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
This measure allows properly licensed anglers and youth to begin fishing for and harvesting trout. All regulations, sizes, and creel limits apply.

Just got back from the building supply yard, everything has to be ordered from outside the office.
I was standing too close to some irish dude (5') and the owner said, yo matt 6' (with a smirk)
I lifted my shirt to flash the heat, he laughed..
Getting back to the trout, are they wearing masks?

This could possibly be the most idiotic thing I have ever heard. I guess I'll head out to a local stream this evening.

Probably just a rumor to fine more people. I dunno, a year, maybe two years ago I was getting gas and talking to the Fish Warden. He told me he went through a book of tickets because it opened later up here above the Blue and guys were out fishing. I told him it was a good thing I don't buy a license and just go because it is too complicated to keep up with the regulations.

No, it is real: https://www.media.pa.gov/Pages/fish-...spx?newsid=316
See the link for the details if you really want to know.
The short form: The decision to open trout season immediately is intended to discourage concentrated gatherings of people that may have occurred on the traditional opening day, to minimize intrastate and interstate travel, and to reduce the threat of illegal poaching in waters that have already been stocked.

I was hoping they would do this. I think it's a good idea. Opening day is a cool tradition but honestly the fishing sucks. I like hanging out with friends and family. When I want to actually go fishing, I go during the week or head off to some place that is difficult to get into. It will be busier than ever with everyone home.
