Re: how many fudd bought ar-15 ?
When we transitioned to ARs from shotguns at our P.D., not only did we have to update the backstop of our indoor range, we had to "sound proof" it too. We had a 5 lane indoor range (get this - when they built the building, they only made it wide enough for 5 lanes, even though they had purchased 6 lanes from Caswell... nice job huh!) and when all 5 lanes were being used for quals, it got pretty loud. The acoustic paneling that we had installed helped, but still...
Our indoor range was 25 yards, but we would rent out a neighboring PDs out door range each year so that everyone got a 10 hour day of rifle work outside too. It allowed us to extend the range of our training to 75 yards, shot on a mover with the rifles, use their shoot house, and work from and around a vehicle.
I will add, a while back at the indoor range where I am a member of there was a gentleman shooting his suppressed 300 blackout next to me, I told my buddy "that's how you shoot an AR in an indoor range"Tomorrow's battle is won during today's practice.

Re: how many fudd bought ar-15 ?
I bought a box of 223 yesterday at a LGS. Limited to 1 box per caliber, bought a couple calibers and 3 PMAGs and had to make an appointment for it. He claimed the Governer said I can make an appointment to BUY, not to come in and look.
Anyways when I asked about 5.56 also and the guy on the phone said, "I have 223. 223 and 5.56 are the same thing."

Not if their 556 costs the same as their 223... because "they're the same"

Yeah find another gun shop that knows that 223 and 5.56 are completely different and aren't interchangeable. I bought this gun back in 2010 before I knew that and now have to special order ammo.

Jen, why not just swap out the 223 chambered barrel and put in a 556 chambered stick?
And stick to one stocked inventory.HGW, llc ~ Title 1 & NFA sales/manufacturing ~ Transfers - Title 1 $20 - NFA $50

I thought that the difference between the two is the pressures contained within and that the dims are the same. Same as with .308/7.62x51.
