I don't know what the maximum loads are for the Henry 45LC.
AFAIK their 45 colts can take +p ammunition. Where that fall into the pressure range I'm not certain. They make 44mag models, find it hard to believe the receivers are much different.

Go here to cross reference to the original manufacturer: https://www.gunpartscorp.com/brand-cross-reference

As said, gate fed or fed from the muzzle, they are all still tubular magazines.

Not all Henry's are octagonal. The two I purchased are cylindrical. A more basic model.
Thanks! I actually watched a video of a guy running a Henry tube/gate fed rifle with a cylindrical barrel in 30-30.

Henry now offers loading gates in a few specific models and calibers, unfortunately not in .357 yet.

I have a .357 big boy with the octagon barrel it’s heavy but not so that it’s awkward or so unbalanced that you can’t shoot a few hundred rounds off hand. It’s a fine rifle smooth and accurate. It fills the lever action category for me which is a one and done. I would have no issues buying one again. If you hunt and hike and plan to use it then of course a lighter weight option is always best.

    Good luck with your search.

If money is no object, the older JM stamped Marlin 1894c is your best bet, IMO. Since money is an object in my calculations, I've bought an older Rossi 92 SRC, the Rossi 92 can be hit or miss but I've had good luck with the two I've owned. They are a top eject knockoff of the Winchester 1892.

If money wasn’t an object I’d go with one of Ubertis higher end offerings.

I have a Henry big boy in .357 with the octagonal barrel and tube feed. I love it. Very smooth action and accurate. Lots of fun with light 38 special to max 357 loads.

If I were buying today, I’d get the x model. Side loading in addition to tube, threaded barrel, etc. https://www.henryusa.com/rifles/big-boy-x-model/
