No pictures but my lever gun stable includes:

    1952 Marlin 336RC .35 rem.
Marlin '92 .22LR - I haven't dated this one but I know my Great Uncle was toting this around the Texas/Oklahoma oil fields in the '20-30's
Sako FinnWolf .308 - also undated but acquired by my dad in the mid-70's.

I actually like the look of the semi pistol grip as well. Nothing against the straight stock. But given the choice, the semi pistol grip is going to be it.

Now I'm wondering if i should go for the long ranger instead of something like a 38/357. Cost of ammo isn't substantially different. Although i can shoot it in less places. Decisions decisions.

I have limited space so unfortunately, i can't have one of each.

Depends on why you want one. Will it be used for hunting, HD, or a range toy? If you don't have a place to shoot beyond 100 yards, the Long Ranger probably isn't worth the scratch.

Don't forget the storage space under your bed. Just put the rifle in a soft case and slide it under. Store the ammo separately but easily accessible only by you. Problem solved.

I have several lever guns. 44 magnum, 3030, 270 and two 45 lc mares legs.

Haven't shot any of them yet.

I do like side gates better, except when hunting. I jump around from site to site a bunch and have go unload to do so. Unloading a side gate is a PITA and, so I'm told, will compress your bullet in the cartridge if done repeatedly.
Oh it definitely will. Even loading rounds into a tight Marlin gate will compress bullets on rounds that aren't tightly crimped/pressed. I've seen it happen with .38 special Freedom Munitions. The bullets get pressed completely into the cartridge. Luckily they likely won't feed in that condition, so the likelihood of blowing something up is reduced. But certainly something to be careful of.

Total fun gun. And i can get out to 100 yards locally. Beyond that isn't impossible, but very unlikely it will happen often.

The same argument could be made for an ar15 only getting out to 100 yards. But again, fun gun. Sure, 308 or 6.5 would be total overkill, but the 5.56/223 wouldn't really be and i already have the ammo anyway.

I think I've got a lot of thinking to do about how much i intend to shoot it.

What somebody really needs to do is make a takedown lever action in a pistol caliber. I'd be all in.

That space is currently occupied by a Ruger American rimfire in 22 wmr and a 10/22 m1. When i move (sell/trade) those, then i can refill that space.

Oops, sorry, guess I didn't hold down my mouse button long enough. Fixed it in my original post.
