How To Fix Stuff or Problem Solved
How about it? a thread that lets other members know how to fix shit? you know, problem solved?
Ill start,
The handle on the toilet broke last week. took the lid off the back and the metal arm that holds the chain via a clip had deteriorated from 25 years of hard use and hard water.
Wife said , now we have to go out to get a new handle.
Nope.
I bent a piece of plastic coated coat hanger about 6 inches long in half, used 3 zip ties to attach it to the arm securely, and clipped the chain back on to it.
I think it will outlast me now, or at least another 5 years or so. problem solved.
anyone else?75/15/10

Damn, this is good. I know I did something constructive, I just have to remember it.
I'll post it once I remember it.

Re: How To Fix Stuff or Problem Solved
I needed a new gasket right away for a machine, didn't have time to wait for one to arrive. Found a flat image of the gasket needed in Google images. Brought it into Photoshop and cleaned it up. Put the carb onto my scanner and brought it into photoshop. Used the new cleaned up image to scale and align it with the scanned image of the carb. Printed it out as black and carefully cut it out with a xacto knife. Then traced the shape onto some gasket material I had one hand, and carefully cut that out. Reassembled the machine and it worked perfectly.

adding more floodlights here at Castle Boondocks.
Holes in light base would not line up with the plastic junction boxes.
Diddled with it for 10 minutes, then got long deck screws and powered through the junction box and into the wood behind.
There.
I fixed it.
