Default Glock 17 gen 3 questions

A while ago i acquired a Glock 17 during a trade. I know relatively little about Glocks.

It came with a factory magazines and a pmag. What do i need to know about magazine generations? I can't make sense of it. The more i read, the more confusing it gets.

How can i verify that it is factory stock internally? I know the slide stop has been replaced with what looks to be the ghost slide stop. My main concern here is really just of safety.

It also came with a Galloway precision recoil spring and rod assembly. So i guess that is a bonus.

Do i need any special tools to take it down beyond field stripping? Any online guides? I'm very capable of taking things apart and reassembling if i have a visual guide.

This is likely just going to be a range gun and not a carry gun.

    Anything else i would know?

Just look it up on YouTube. Everything you ever wanted to know is on there. Any gen mag will work in a gen 3. Some of the newer mags are setup for right and left hand mag release. The older mags are right hand only. The only tool needed to takedown a glock is a punch to push the pins out. Just make sure the trigger safety works. I had an issue with mine with some aftermarket parts. Gen3 is a great gun. Super reliable.

As far as i could tell, the trigger safety works. Trying to pull the trigger without the additional blade would not release the striker.

I appreciate the information on the mags. Certainly makes sense why it matters for some generations and not others.
