Barter Items
I was thinking about which items would be good for bartering. I think having some cans of coffee on hand would be a good idea, people will pay a premium in either cash or other goods for their caffeine fix. Sugar. Creamer. Several years ago I bought some extra firearms which include a couple of single shot shotguns, .22 pistols, and .22 rifles. Those would be good for bartering. Got some extra ammo too!

Re: Barter Items
Maybe stock some extra TP?
IANAL. I don't give legal advice. I'm only stating my OPINION.
(Did I really need to say that on an Internet forum? LOL)

Re: Barter Items
The little airline bottles of booze are a good barter item, if you can get them at a good price. .22lr ammo has been known as ballistic wampum in some circles for years. Salt will be worth it's weight in gold(or close to it) if we are reduced to solely a barter economy. Leather work gloves will be in high demand, along with hand tools. Eggs will fetch a premium, as will fresh milk, fruits and vegetables. Think of those things that your grandparents valued that are in limited supply today.

Re: Barter Items
I personally wouldn't trade guns/ammo...how do you know those items won't be used against you??? They could load that ammo you just traded them and shoot you in the back. People need to really think before they do.
Precious Metals are good for rebuilding, but if things really get bad, you cannot eat silver/gold, so it's not high on my list.
I would concentrate on items that people use everyday, such as food and water...hell feminine hygiene products would serve you well.
