Default Holster options for a CZ Shadow 2

Found a CZ Shadow 2 today at The Handgunner in Topton and when I picked it up, it spoke to me. I responded by leaving with a significantly lighter wallet offset by this nearly 3 lb hunk of solid steel. Magnificently well machined, it feels... substantial. I can't think of another word for it. Well-balanced with a center of mass close to the grip, and because it's a steel frame and steel slide it should shoot magnificently with low recoil. Chambered in 9mm.

Anyway, I bought it as a carry gun, which I know, some would balk at a 3 lb all steel full size (4.9" barrel) pistol as a carry gun but I like to carry OWB so I carry as big as practicable without banging it against chairs and table edges. This should fit the bill, but I need to find a good OWB holster. Not sure if it will fit most CZ 75 holsters. I prefer leather with a thumb strap, but if kydex is the only option, I'll go with it. Any suggestions? I haven't shopped for holsters in over a decade so I'm out of the loop. Thanks

Nice find! I think the Shadow 2 has slightly different dimensions that the Shadow 1, SP-01, and definitely the regular CZ75.

Pretty sure Dara holsters makes one in Kydex. Tucker Gun Leather shows having a leather holster for the Shadow 1, you could call him and see if it would work with the Shadow 2. Only leather holster I ever liked was from TGL.

After weighing my options, I decided to place an order with Falco Holsters. They seem to do a lot of CZs in particular because they're based in Slovakia, which is a neighbor to the Czech Republic.

Went with the premium leather option because why not. Now I just have to wait a month for turnaround!

I didn't get in on time for advise but you should have looked at Simply Rugged holsters. I have one of theirs for my SP01 Tactical and it is great. Nice leather, conforms to the body very well and very well made.

That’s one hell of a carry gun. I would have mentioned red hill tactical. They seem to make a lot of them

I looked at their offerings, they don't list the Shadow 2 for the pancake style holster w/thumb break that I would like. I appreciate the recommendation, though!

Yeah it is, upon some further research this thing weighs in at 46.5 oz empty. That's heavier than a full size 1911! But man does it carry the weight well.

I looked at them too, they don't make anything resembling a pancake style leather holster w/thumb break. As that's what I'm used to and very comfortable with, I went with Falco.

For me, the pancake leather holster keeps the gun as close to my body as possible while stabilizing the mass of the gun and keeping it from flopping around as much as with competition style holsters. I've used Blackhawk pancake holsters for the past 15 years and they worked well for everything from my old SW99 (lightest), to a Para Ordnance S16-40 (heaviest). The new gun is only a couple ounces heavier than the Para, so I don't anticipate any issues with its overall mass.

Now if only I could find some more 9mm!
