Ha my wife still won't go to the range with me even when we have nothing to do! Has to be 75 and sunny and maybe she'll consider. As likely my main backup, I wish her skills were a bit sharper...

    So is a shotgun.

I like the .45 acp, but the numbers show anything between 9mm-10 mm will work, most of the time. But no semi auto pistol is a man stopper. period. People are amazingly resilient. I pick .45 acp because I trust it to work most of the time, and because carrying a rifle is damned inconvenient.

For that you need a wheel gun with a decent barrel, a good .357 magnum defense round (maybe) or something in the .41-.44 magnum family. To many people hopped up on religion or drugs. If we’re taking man stoppers, killing then isn’t going to do it: they need to be bled out immediately.

Some of the 12 gauge self defense rounds don’t so much make bigger holes as disassociate parts of the body with other parts.

I would concede that is 100% carry in the home is desired / considered a requirement, then a pistol is needed. A 44 magnum mares leg being your best option.

I hope so. Please encourage everyone to get a .44 magnum with a 3.5 to 5 in barrel. It is what I want ;-)

If someone is asking tell them an ar15 with a 30 round magazine
When they ask why so many rounds tell them,
"no one ever said I shouldn't have brought so much ammunition to this gun fight"
what if you have 30 looters after your TP stash?

I don't think there's any question whether that should do the trick...

I would love to see the reaction of New Yorkers when they find out it takes about a year to get a pistol permit and you can't just buy one. Ha ha!

Friend in Jersey is learning it now. Would take less time to sell his house, buy a new house in PA, and buy a gun here.
