Re: Lawfully licensed NJ security guard arrested
jussayin... if there weren't ten thousand million laws covering every little bit of nonsense possible, giving people the ability to charge someone with whatever crime they can imagine provided one just dig into the books and find it. yessir, see right here, you are guilty of traveling at noon on the day of weds without an umbrella during the mating season of the spotted horn owl. as per this law from 1654
cops then might know the laws they're trying to enforce... like murder, attempted murder, assault, battery, theft and any combination of the prior. instead of how dark your tint is or whether your vehicle has little "DOT" imprints in the light housings.Last edited by fallenleader; March 9th, 2020 at 09:11 AM.

Re: Lawfully licensed NJ security guard arrested
Nothing 'merry' about having to deal with it in the first place. If anything, maybe a ticket for the window tint, but if all of the many 'permission' slips were valid and in order he shouldn't have had to deal with the hassle at all. That would have been going on his merry way.

Re: Lawfully licensed NJ security guard arrested
So basically he and the tax payer will have to spend thousands in order to go before a judge with a .10 cent print out from the NJSP web site showing he had broken no laws.
Here is 100% proof that no matter how many laws, registrations? Or requirements are passed then met by the people your always going to loose when it comes to firearms in places like NJ because it will never be enough. Him being a young black man probably didn’t help much either, it only took three officers to pull a guy over for window tint.

You can't possibly expect the police to be able to identify every type of ammunition out there. He should have been carry a receipt for the ammunition with a video on his smart phone of him loading it. It's just far easier for cops to arrest him for what they suspect is a crime and let the courts sort it out.

Re: Lawfully licensed NJ security guard arrested
Prosecutor may be hoping for a decision making the bullet illegal. ie an anti-zeolite. Or....here's a stretch....prosecutor believes state police defining what is and what isn't a hollow point is making law, which is not their function or legal authority.
Any state or commonwealth requiring licensing, permitting, costs amounting to taxation regarding guns is violating the 2nd amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America. PERIOD. Moving to a state having "more reasonable gun laws" is still agreeing to be wronged.Last edited by Bang; March 9th, 2020 at 04:55 PM.
There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

Re: Lawfully licensed NJ security guard arrested
New Jersey prosecutors dropped a felony charge against a security guard who was pulled over for driving with tinted windows and then charged with violating gun laws, prosecutors informed Newsweek on Friday. Roosevelt Twyne's case illustrates how the state's intricate gun restrictions can ensnare residents, multiple experts said.
Roselle Park police officers stopped Twyne, 25, in early February as he was returning home from work in his personal vehicle because, they said, he was driving with tinted windows. Twyne, a black man who works for the Brinks armored car company, was also transporting a handgun he believed he was legally permitted to carry for his job under the state's restrictive licensing laws.
However, officers charged him with two gun-related offenses: One violation of the state's firearm transport ban and another pertaining to hollow-point bullets. The latter charge was dropped after Union County prosecutors decided the ammunition Twyne was carrying was not illegal. Until Friday, prosecutors were seeking an additional charge on the transport ban.
"I was simply a block away from getting home after work," Twyne told Newsweek. "I never thought I would be arrested, charged and have my life turned upside down over New Jersey's convoluted gun laws, especially when I was a fully licensed, trained security officer."
The prosecutor's office said Friday it concluded that his alleged breach of the law was not intentional.Ecclesiastes 10:2 ...........

That's a good start but that's a case where reparations are in order.
