    The very last sentence is the problem. They’re still saying it was illegal, but they’re gonna let him off because it was “unintentional”. Sounds to me like they didn’t want to litigate a case that they thought might set precedent that was bad for their gun control agenda.

    The officer thought it was illegal, therefore, alleged.

    Hmm, if you read the story, though, it appears that his license to carry was only valid during the course of his employment. They are still pursuing unlawful transport charges against him.

    Bummer.
