    Default Columbia County public range

I bought a state game lands range permit for use at the Mainville state game lands public handgun/rifle range. I noticed on the website that it has a 25/50 yard handgun target area. Are you allowed to be up any closer then that? I wanna practice shooting my new gun at 3/5/7 yards, am I allowed to do that?

Nope. And no targets put any closer either. You can attempt it but risk fine and bodily injury

SGL Range Rules state all firing must be done from the established firing points. And as NathanB stated, targets can only be used at the designated target locations.

You will need to find another place where you can safely shoot (your own property or that of a friend) or join a range that allows you to shoot at those distances. I'm not familiar with any clubs/ranges in Columbia County. I guess the closest indoor range would be the Cabin Armory & Training Center outside of Wilkes-Barre.

Why is Pa Game commission still selling range permits when the ranges have been closed by Wolf with no reopen date?
