Re: AR15 Optics Question
As painfull as it can be sometimes it is always better to spend the money on a high quality optic with good reviews.(most of the time they will be the popular ones but not always) Save and buy a good one so you dont end up buying twice when the first one breaks or doesn't work correctly. Quality and reliability will cost when it comes to optics.

Re: AR15 Optics Question
Take a look at Eotech. The prices are painful, but I've used a couple on friends' rifles and I will own one. They are awesome.
I'm using this one on my AR now:

It works well and holds zero, but it's also twice the cost of the NCStar. While the one I'm using is serviceable and works fine, it still can't compare to an EOTech.
Unfortunately, I can't help with the cowitnessing thing, since my gun doesn't have iron sights at all.
Just my $.02.

Re: AR15 Optics Question
EOTech, Aimpoint and Trijicon are the main players in the CCO game. Find people who have them, try using each a bit and see which one suits you.
