The interesting part is... Unless the serial number is known or the person remembers which FFL he bought it and they can find the 4473, they are SOL. And the 'new owner' now has it free and clear.

Guess I'll have to be on my guard to see if anyone comes into the shop looking to sell/consign/trade a PTR-91.

I think I've seen that guy around.
There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

And the article does say left at the shooting range and not left at the shooting bench.

My range has cameras and key-card entry and exit, I'll bet they could figure out who took it if it happens here.

I love the way she says twelve hundred dollar rifle. Little do they know it’s an evil asshat rifle with the banana clip and thing that goes up. I guess green threw then off and it didn’t start with the letter A.

This must happen more than you think . Our local sportsmans club has a range . Someone left a marlin 22. on the bench two weeks ago.

Stuff gets left behind all the time, guns at gun ranges, boat motors at boat ramps, tools in vehicles at the garage, probably tools inside peoples' bodies once in a while, weed eaters at lawn mowing sites, etc.
