I eat cereal for breakfast daily, so at the start of this, I started seeking powdered milk. I was too late, but eventually, I scored 2 huge bags at a Walmart while shopping.
They either make 20 qts or 40 qts each - I forget.

Also bought almond milk, or whatever it was. But that's pretty expensive so I only got a few cartons.

It's like diet soda. In my youth I used to drink Coca Cola like it was going out of style. Then in my early 20's I decided to stop. Lost a ton of weight. For one reason or another I started drinking soda again, but diet soda instead of regular. Not healthy in any way. But now I can't stand the taste of regular soda. It's way too sweet to me.

i've noticed the less shopping has caused milk to run a lot closer to its exp date before being sold.
wife and i have froze milk before, she contends that the fattier the better because it gets runny when it defrosts.
i argue that creamcheese comes out all crumbly and skim would be better because it has almost no fat.

we do the powdered milk thing for emergencies. best used for cooking though.

Last saturday after I got back from the dairy we had 15 gallons of milk in the fridge. This evening for dinner we opened a fresh gallon, and now there's only 3 left in there. I hope those 3 gallons last us until I get to the dairy on saturday morning again.

Why don't you just buy it in bags and get a dispenser or have a valve sticking out the side of the icebox?

The dairy stopped selling it in bags, because the NewJersidiots that moved in the area and those blasted millenials don't know how to work with a bag of milk.

Up until last year, the Pine View Dairy still did bags. Now it's all the standard gallons jugs, EXCEPT they bamboozled me the first I went in and they didn't have bags. I got gallons with the red caps, thinking they were like normal stores that red cap is whole milk. Nope, Blue caps for them is whole milk.
