I just ordered a Vortex Crossfire II from Amazon. On YouTube, Tactical Rifleman did a review of it and loved it. On top of it, Vortex has an awesome lifetime warranty.

Aimpoint pro for about $450.00. You pay for what you get. Easy to operate, easy to mount, no holding down buttons to adjust the brightness just turn the dial.

    Which Crossfire?

The Crossfire II seems to be the magnified (ex: 1-4x24) optic while the Crossfire is a more basic red dot.

I tried looking up "Vortex Crossfire II" on Tactical Rifleman's channel, but it looks like it's mislabeled as Vortex Crossfire II, and he's showing a Crossfire.

Maybe I'm just completely wrong about all of it. Ha.

    I ordered this model.

Vortex Crossfire Gen 2 Red Dot

The model I ordered is the CF-RD2. This is the “Gen 2”. The “Gen 1” is CF-RD1.

I put a EXSP3 on my 18" AR. I could hit a 10"x10" plate at 400 yards from a bench. I ended up throwing a 3x9 on it and making into my bench gun.

There's a lot of options in your price range, it all depends on what you want to do with your AR.

If you only need to reach out to >200 yards IMO you don't need a magnified optic.

I bought this a couple years ago. The only negative is the illumination is not very bright. I don't use it 90% of the time anyway. At 1x it's pretty much like a red dot. Good price and lifetime warranty.

Get the best of both worlds with the trade off of weight... yet the magnifier can be removed...

I would also suggest a very good muzzle device, like this...

Good luck finding ammo to practice with. Additionally, take a class at Sig Academy in NH to learn more about your rifle and upgrade your software.
