Re: HIGH end AR wanting to be sold
You can buy a guaranteed .5 moa upper for $1145 that will run all day. You can build similar a lot cheaper.
Even with a Proof Research barrel, Triggertech Diamond, a bunch of billet parts......5K seems a bit too large to believe.

Re: HIGH end AR wanting to be sold
My first AR I bought was in 2012, the worst time I could of bought one. A guy at work had me convinced that LMT was the only way.
I'm looking to see how your friend makes out. As someone else who put too much into a AR lol.Because Failure Is Not An Option

Your friend is going to find out what custom car builders have known for years... what you have in it doesn’t mean squat. It’s only valuable to him.

He hasn't sent me the list of parts and pictures yet.

I am wondering if he is having second thoughts, I pretty much told him this also ^^^^, it's your dream (whatever) but that doesn't make someone else's dream so don't expect to sell it for what you have into it.
Hell, even I'm curious ro see what all is included. I've transferred numerous lowers (name and no name) to him over the years so I really don't know which one he started with.Ron USAF Ret E-8 FFL01/SOT3 NRA Benefactor Member

Re: HIGH end AR wanting to be sold
Over the years I have bought rifles from people I have not even looked at. Rarely went wrong-even if it was just a "Parts" gun. I would not offer over $300 dollars for a black gun someone I did not know cobbled together. This is not a joke.

Re: HIGH end AR wanting to be sold
The only home built AR I know that can sell for what is invested would have to be one of the crazy accurate and rare military clone builds. That market is full of dudes willing to dish out a ton of money for a rifle that is identical to something some cool used somewhere because of reasons.
