Default Looking for gunsmith in Central PA

So I had a mishap, more then one actually changing out a front sight on a Ruger Alaskan. The cross pin buckled causing the punch to break off in the hole. I got the crosspin out, but the portion of the punch is still jambed in the hole, something is blocking it as it wont move either direction. I tried to drill it out but that was even worse. Pretty sure I will need someone with a Jig to hold the gun and a drill press to make a bigger hole to solve this problem....or just someone who knows guns better then me before I destroy the gun. Anyone know someone with this level of experience in central pa ?

I would think you could do this yourself but maybe not.
I kind of want to pound it out myself.
Lube her before you do though , that can make a difference.
Given your location , you know we have very little in good smiths.
Given your location I would check with Dugans gun shop …. call him first and check.
    He is in Port Matilda.
Google him , not hard to find …. go to bald Eagle intersection over there around Tyrone, hook a right onto Mountain Rd and follow that , watch for deer crossing , he'll be in a block building up on your left.

Hey one more thing ... I do not know if you have a plastic insert on the sight you are trying to save
But if not , have you considered using heat.
Heat makes things "the hole" expand.
When I say heat , I am not talking about cherry red.
I've used smartly applied heat before and it goes a long ways without boogering anything.
A little can go a long ways ..... don't stand there for long.
maybe even a soldering iron could do it .... maybe , of course that takes longer than the torch.
heat the opposite end of where the punch is stuck of course so to not heat punch as much
    just a thought

With that bulge Im not sure which way to tap it to not damage it any further. Im thinking once the pin went thru the sight, the sight shifted a little, then the punch was up against the sight and the tip bent or something inside the hole. I honestly cant tell how this happened, and am very surprised the metal bulged and how soft it is for such a beefy gun.

If you decide you need some assistance let me know and I can take care of it for you. Just give me a call to set it up. As said I do specialize in repair and restoration of the Ruger DA revolvers, old and new.

It's mild steel so it'll deform but my eyes seem to be seeing a huge booger bulge alright.
Not 100% sure how you got it like what I think I am seeing but...
You should stop any further work and take that to someone.
The poster above me says he can fix it …. so there you go.
    State College isn't that far.

I'm not sure either, this should have gone smooth. I've never damaged anything before in my life. It was a little dark and late at night but I wasnt hitting it that hard.....or so I thought.
