I bought a tx22 a couple months ago. So far it has been a pretty good gun. I will keep an eye on the recoil assembly I only have about 400 rounds through the gun. It was about $150.00 cheaper than my ruger sr22. Between the gallery of guns and the taurus lifetime
    warrenty Im not to worried.

Either way the TX22 isn't perfect obviously but how bad overall is it, I guess just depends on the one you get.
And the odds are 50/50 that you'll get that kind of service from Taurus. So you're one of the lucky ones. In todays gun market I think those odds totally suck compared to 95% of todays gun company's.

Once again inconsistency from gun to gun is much higher with Taurus then 95% of the rest IMHO. Way to many better options

I picked one up from dunhams on sale for $249. Willing to take a chance at that price especially after good reviews from mac and others. Just because one gun had issues doesn't mean it is s wide spread thing.

I follow a bunch of forums and haven't seen any other issues with slides cracking. I did sign up for a notification from lakeline LLC for the recoil assembly and will buy one as well as some fiber optic sites
