    Default Converting a 5.56 to 308

I was wondering is it possible to switch uppers on my ar15 and replace it with a 308? I donít want to purchase another whole kit but would like to just buy a different caliber upper.

    Different lowers completely.

7.62x51 won't work but you can get a 7.62X39 upper for an AR15 lower.

also 308 AR pattern rifles are not all interchangeable either. the 2 main patterns are the armalite (the AR-10) and dpms (LR-308)

308 is too long for the AR 15, but you can still change calibers.

    as mentioned - 7.62x39

    7.62x35 aka .300BLK

I just built a .458Socom. It's competitors would be .450 Bushmaster or the .50 beowulf.

Probably a few more I'm totally clueless about. I don't remember if 6.8 fits AR15?

6.8 will work in a standard AR lower with metal mags.

6.5 Grendel will also work in a standard AR lower.
Oh therapy, can you please fill the void? Am I retarded or am I just overjoyed?

Probably will go with 7.62 by 39 as I don't want to reload and it's cheaper than a 300 blackout.
