    Default Bolt action 7.62x39 Love

Anyone else love the bolt action rifles out there chambered in 7.62x39.

Here are a few of my favorites from top to bottom:

    • 1st up is the Howa 1500 mini-mauser in 7.62x39 - This rifle has the standard profile 22" barrel. I put it in a nice walnut stock and removed all the plastic parts I could.
    • 2nd up is my current favorite a CZ 527 in 7.62x39 - These are awesome rifles right out of the box. This one is the carbine model with the 18" barrel
    • 3rd is a Remington model 799 made by Zastava - This is a nice rifle I replaced the Remington laminate stock with a Mark-X European walnut stock. This is sporting a 20" barrel.

You got to love mini-mausers they are great little brush guns for deer especially when shooting the Hornady Black 123gr ammo.

I have always wanted a CZ527 but never got around to picking one up. Since I have decided to start deer hunting next season on my own property and any shots will be relatively close I may have a reason to drop down from the 308 back into the 527 in the more manageable 7.62x39 which I happen to be heavily stocked in. The iron sights are the icing on the cake too.

Me too. I've always wanted at CZ 527 Carbine with the detachable box magazine, but in .223, not 7,62x39. I have a .30-30 which is essentially the equivalent of the Russian round, actually a bit more versatile due to bullet selection. Still, I wouldn't sneeze at one in 7.62.

I've always wanted an Australian International Arms bolt action that takes AK47 mags.
If someone ever posted one up for sale here, I'd consider selling an AR to get it.

The CZ 527 is my favorite out of the few I own. If you get one I'm sure you will like it.

I suspect it would require selling more than one AR to fund it

Older video of mine, but it shows some of the groups I was getting. I haven't shot it in a while, but it's a 1 1/2-2 1/2 moa gun with decent ammo.

Is that a heavy barrel on there and do you like the factory stock?
