Default Sig Sauer barrels - lead bullets ok?

I'm thinking about picking up a Sig Sauer P226 X-Five. Are lead bullets safe in Sig barrels or do they use some sort of rifling like Glock and HK that makes lead bullets a no-go?

I've been shooting lead in all my Sigs for years. To the best of my knowledge, Sig uses traditional rifling and not the Polygonal rifling used in Glocks and HK's. If my 220's are any indication, the 226 will probably love lead stuff. My .45's shoot that stuff really well.

My 226 eats everything. Why the X-Five?

    I want a 9mm Sig, but I hate DA/SA guns.

Oh, I see. What about the DAK?

Save a ton of money over the X-Five

SIG X-5 is a very good 9mm one of the best there is very expensive if it was mine i wouldnt fire it much i would keep it as a collector piece like a Colt .45 but you can do what you want with it , its a very versatile gun i feel its the best one SIG made in 9mm. i dont see many around anymore , i never fired one either i wish i could...........

I'd much prefer an SA only pistol.

I'm probably going to get the X-Five competition or Tactical. Both are SA only, both are less expensive than the just original X-Five.

Blaze away My P220 loves 200gr lead semi-wadcutters it shoots them fantasticly into small little groups the X5 should do wonders with a good lead bullet.

Guilty, I also shoot lead in all straight walled cases.
We make a 230 ball pill that does well. I took it up to 1033, then cooled it down to 980fps.
    (P220)
    A 430 grains of lead going 1450fps will penetrate 8ft 6in of meat @ 100 yards
