Default Reloading for the 38 Long Colt

I just picked up this Colt New Army in 38 Long Colt circa 1906. I slugged the bore and its .358 so I don't have to worry about getting the heeled bullets for reloading. Can't wait to load up some rounds and see how this old girl shootsScreenshot_20200202-081614_Gallery.jpg

Just a FYI - Starline makes brass for the .38 LC.

    https://www.starlinebrass.com/38-long-colt-brass

You could just shorten .38 Spl brass, but that seems like a lot of work when the correct brass is readily available.

    Have fun.

The .38 Short Colt originally used heeled bullets. The .38 Long Colt never did.

    Very nice.
I seem to be shooting revolvers more than I used to.

it was the failure of this pistol(weak action) and it's cartridge(poor performance) that led the government to look at a replacement with similar performance to the 45colt.
i have a model of 1896 from 1905ish....never shot it.
it's only metal, we can out think it....

Should it have a lanyard swivel? Just wondering.

only on the model of 1901s and after.
the lack of acceptance marks and the hard black rubber grips lends it to looking like a civilian sales version.
