Re: Courthouse
Is it carved in stone that one handgun shall be placed in one locker, and no other shall be placed in that locker?
There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

Re: Courthouse
What I learned from this week: All jurors are gathered together in a large room in the basement and come in and out of the courthouse through the employee door. This kept us from wandering the halls as we couldn't talk to others, overhear, or divulge information about court cases. There are no firearm lockers in the basement, only the main entrance, hence the no firearms for people on jury duty as per the summons paperwork. I'm not saying I agree, but that's what I've seen. I have a secure lock box in my vehicle, and was adequate enough for me since parking was relatively close. If they had firearm lockers, I would have used them. As for when I was inside, I wore a vest under my sweater and nobody seemed to notice or care.

Re: Courthouse
Indiana County Court House has the juror's room on the fourth floor. Gotta use the main entrance (checking in/out firearms, etc.). While actually sitting on the jury we were kicked loose for lunch, free to wander around, but warned not to discuss the case with anyone, including fellow jurors. The hot dog vendor directly outside the courthouse and the sandwich shop across the street were the places of choice for the jurors. Left my handgun where it was for lunch, but after the second day it became easier and quicker to check in and out my handgun.
Came deliberation time we were all locked in, with lunch provided for (from the sandwich shop). Once finished, we were all escorted by a deputy to the parking garage (since we had found the gang banger guilty) via a side entrance to the building. Since I had my handgun to collect, I had to use the front door and received my own personal escort until we met up with the group of other jurors. The deputies stayed in the parking garage until we had all departed and went our own ways.

Re: Courthouse
The deputy lied to me as I asked if there was a locker downstairs at the juror entrance and he said there was.

Re: Courthouse
For my Juror Duty 5 years ago, I open carried everyday and used the main entrance off Market Street. I got to know the "Security Guard" in charge, Joe (I think). First day, I went in and asked to check my firearm. After some back and forth and BS about said firearm, I told him that I'm here all week for Jury Duty, so better get used to checking the firearm.
They will push to see the LTCF. Your choice on pushing back.
Unless things have changed.... Use the main entrance, and the juror seating area is downstairs and to the left.
Honestly, don't take their BS or polite request not to bring the firearms. If the "Security Guards" refuse to do their job, ask for an actual Sheriff's Deputy.Last edited by gooseSA40; February 13th, 2020 at 12:47 PM. Reason: Spell check

Re: Courthouse
What time did the front door actually open? I was told to be in the jury pool by 8:15 at the latest, and didn't want to caught up in an argument that might make me late. If I knew when the front entrance would be open by, I would have used it instead.
