Because that’s the weapon close in design that the government issued to me when they sent my ass to Vietnam. I’ll still use that weapon to fight for freedom.

The title is misleadingly the wrong question. When discussing a right (Free speech, Assembly, Religion, Association, security in your persons and papers, to not incriminate yourself, etc) "Need" has nothing to do with the discussion, and if attempted to answer is a loosing proposition to start with. It falls right there with "Have you stopped beating your wife?" or "Do you enjoy being a racist?"
