I have one of the first Henry Big Boy's in .41 mag to go along with a dozen .41 mag revolvers in the safe. Fun , but won't cycle my pet handload using the Lyman 410459 'Keith-style' SWC.

I’m not a hunter... but, if I was ever invited to hunt I’d use my Henry 30-30.

I love shooting that rifle, although she kicks like a mule.

FWIW I have a new Big Boy steel carbine ...
I’ve heard the 300 grain 44s ( not sure the 41 equivalent) especially the Keith loads can be problematic in the Henry , I’ve fed mine 180 gr and 240 grain .44 mag and special without a single hiccup. I wouldn’t hesitate to take the .44 into the deer woods.

I also got mine to match my .44 revolvers .

    All the above, plus...

If you hand load, you can make very accurate subsonic 180 grain bullets with a lot of punch and little noise. Unsuppressed, they sound more like a clunk than a bang. It would be fun to run these with a can.

They're cool as hell that's why. Also try loading up some black powder .38 Spc or .357 Mag rounds and then mag dump it. Fun as hell. Here's my Marlington that I picked up recently.
