Re: Great American Outdoor Show February 1 - 9 - Dauphin County
Went yesterday and had a great time. The new Python looked and felt perfect to me. Bought a Vortex micro 3X magnifier for $270 where best I’ve seen on line was $299. Also bought a nice smaller fixed blade Buck knife which the guy hand sharpened before handing over which was a nice touch.
Always amazed at number of African safari outfitters are there. One had a giraffe mount in there along with an elephant head. Talked to a couple of outfitters about a possible combo deer and hog hunt in South Carolina or Georgia.
Had some BBQ and lemonade which were both really good in the food court.

Re: Great American Outdoor Show February 1 - 9 - Dauphin County
I went on Wednesday.
Unimpressed overall. It was too "sports expo-y" and not as many vendors as it had back before it changed promoters. It used to have more "stuff" to buy.
There was a vendor in the Shooting Sports Hall that sold pretty much nothing but gun grips and magazines. He had an awesome selection of grips! I bought two pairs of wood scales for my S&W 642. Wasn't sure which I'd like better, so I bought both and will keep the pair that I like more. Sell the other pair.
The knife vendors were all the same. Chinese junk or Benchmades. I try not to buy junk and I won't buy Benchmade.Sed ego sum homo indomitus
