    Default Ruger 10/22

Umm, am I missing something or if you mount a scope on a Ruger 10/22, you are going to have one hell of a time cleaning it every time because when you remove the stock the gun is upside down and blah blah blah. What am I missing here? Seems a pain to maintain with a scope on.

I have no idea what you are talking about. Mine get cleaned every time I use them and I never thought the scope was in the way.

Okay, so I remove the stock from the barrel. Got that. Now I have a barrel with a scope attached to it. So I have to manipulate around that scope to clean it, it will always be attached, right? I remove it, I have to re-level and resight. So basically, turn it upside down in my gun vise and work on it, that's the deal. maybe I am overthinking but seems like it will be awkward.

I have heard of some people who drill a hole in the rear of the receiver in line with the barrel so they can use a long cleaning rod and clean from chamber to muzzle. I don't know how a scope could interfere with that.
