……………. a 10-22 with scope attached is what brings you confusion when time to clean it?

….. seriously or you just shittin us?
Ha ha good point!! Yeah when I open my trap I am called passive aggressive so I bite my tongue as well.

It was something I noticed is all. Just presenting an alternative hypothesis. Wondering if anyone has an issue when cleaning their 10-22 is all. I like to see how others do things and learn. That's all, no shit that I am always learning new things from others.

I have a 40th anniversary edition 10/22 that has NEVER been out of the stock. I shoot it quite often and clean the barrel and action from time to time. The rifle was new in 2003. Get a bore snake and don't look back.

I just clean from the muzzle end with a 1 piece rod. If you clean so much that you screw up the rifling just slap on a new $100 barrel. You can remove the barrel from the action if you want but if you dont torque it the same you may need to re zero

    I'm not familiar with 10/22s.
Is there a valid reason for removing the stock to clean?

Never heard of anyone going to such lengths to clean a rifle.

    THIS. ^^^

Simple task, takes about 15 mins including assembling tools and putting them away. Loosen one screw, remove stock, knock out the pins, remove trigger group and bolt, clean from "breech." You can even fashion two blocks of wood, one for either side of the receiver, for your rifle vise or bench vise to hold the receiver as an extra pair of hands. With one of your hands on the scope and the other on the cleaning rod handle, dirty up some patches!

Not for a regular basic cleaning. I suppose one may occasionally want to clean inside the trigger group and action and so forth, for that you would need to remove it from the stock. I would say the main purpose in separating the barrel and stock would be if the rifle has gotten wet or stored in a humid place you may want to remove the barrel from the stock to wipe the underside of the barrel down with oil.

Ha ha oh no! I was looking at removing so I could get to the bolt to clean but if you all just clean the bolt face and don’t disassemble I was curious is all. I see a lot clean it all up in there and clean the handle and spring area. That’s the only way to get to it. Does it not get that dirty?
