    Default Va. .......what a mess.

VA: House of Delegates Committee passes almost all Anti-2A Laws along party lines
The House of Delegates’ Public Safety Committee on Friday passed a firearm store law and a bill limiting the number of handguns Virginians can purchase, among other gun controls.

WHSV reports the gun controls, “almost all… passed on a 13-9 party line vote,” with the Democrats voting for them and Republicans against.

Del. Mark Levine (D-45th Dist.) boasted the committee also passed a bill allowing local municipalities to enact gun bans for certain areas whether the state legislature enacts such bans or not. The bill particularly allows local municipalities to ban concealed carry in parks and public buildings. In other words, the bill, should it pass, would allow local municipalities to ban carry by those who have gone through the legal process of acquiring a license to carry for self-defense.

This happened in CT despite all the rhetoric calling for protests, civil disobediance etc... There was actual REGISTRATION or face arrest in CT! VA WILL pass these laws and people will comply. Americans, even many of our 2A advocates, will simply not put themselves out there by facing arrest, imprisonment, bankruptcy and so on over these laws. The only option is at the ballot box. It is imperative that we, in PA, continue our efforts to make sure this doesn't happen here. Continue to reach out to your elected officials, speak at local Township meetings, and do anything else you can!

Assuming that the VA senate passes the most recent bill advanced by the House of Delegates, suppressors and other accessories are going to be banned in VA. I think to Northam's veiled (and others' not so veiled) threats to use government violence to enforce the law. I do not own a suppressor and do not know much at all about the process. I understand that getting one is complicated, expensive and you basically have to register your ownership of it. Hard to imagine you could just re-sell it.

So if Northam were to start the confiscation tactics, would he first start with the suppressors? Presumably VA police could learn who purchased them, where they live and then make their visits. In the process, of course, confiscate things that they do not know so easily like Semiautomatic firearms, banned trigger mechanisms, banned standard capacity magazines etc. Suppressors are not inherently dangerous. They may save hearing in a response to a home invasion. So I am wondering if they are a popular target for banning because there are the easiest to confiscate?
