Dont forget, the current "system" is to prosecute non-police for similar instances, and that doesnt happen without police action.

    Not Guilty!

    Excellent.

Prosecute the prosecutors for bringing this case in the first place.

That's awesome! I am glad this was how the case ended. He should have never been charged in the first place.

We should all talk to our insurance agent and explore all the possible claims we might have. You never want to hear your ins. agent say "You are not covered for that." That officer's defense probably cost $40,000 plus and I bet that is a low estimate. Be it home, car, excess liability, sewage in the basement or professional coverage, few of us could absorb the cost of a claim out of pocket. A wind storm dropped four giant pines on my house and cost my ins. co. $80,000. Thank God for a deluxe policy and not a "cheap" policy that would save a few bucks a year.

So long as prosecutors have immunity they will continue to harrass and abuse whomever they choose.

Just like the bad rulings from Circuit Appeals Courts that will continue to abuse people until they are removed from office (die) or they become held 'In Contempt of the Constitution' for their UnConstitutional actions (as though that is ever going to happen).

Far too few in the judiciary branch are held responsible for their abusive decisions.

But also, as mentioned by some above, the cops rarely if ever rally to the defense of the innocent citizen who is abusively charged. Especially if one of their own has made a bad or evil decision. You would think they would eventually understand that all who believe in law & order (Constitution as Supreme law of the land), and carry to protect themselves, need to be working together to defend against the criminal element (wherever and to whomever that occurs).
