Sagging gun sales have afflicted almost every corner of the industry, most notably iconic gun manufacturers such as Ruger, Remington and Colt.

I see a lot of anti 2A reporting over at IEN.
Much of their 2A content is ideologically based anti 2A propaganda, this article is no exception.
It reads like an anti 2A hit piece with selective data disguised as a market analysis.

Obama was the best firearms salesman in history. Gun manufacturers and their shareholders miss him terribly.

A slump in the market could be caused by other things besides Trump in the white house.

Right now the market is flooded with striker fired 9mm(s) single stack subcompacts, 1911(s), and AR-15s, and single brace pistol carbines. Some companies are going retro such as ATI bring back the older galil rifle, H&K and others bring back the H&K 94 or its clone and colt bring back it's python. I have also seen companies making more tactical bolt action rifles. I don't know if that is to fill the void in the ever growing list of restrictive states or if that is what bolt action rifle shooters want.
I get the impression that with exception of optics and triggers, firearms are about as advanced as they are going to get. Also although the prices of handguns are low with some exceptions, a lot of the semi autos rifles are overpriced. Just maybe some of these manufacturers are getting spoiled by panic buying. When it dissipates and sales go back to normal they think they are in a recession.

I'm not about to go do the research, but I know I've read many times about record numbers of Background checks being done probably for 2 years or more. Stuff was selling but it was selling CHEAP, it is/was a buyers market, and the market is flooded.

In the wake of Virginia, we’ve seen a rise in the cost of some ARs. While business is soft at the shop, it’s not out of the normal seasonal slump. Also, I haven’t seen the deluge of pistol caliber ammo that I thought I would see when Walmart quit carrying it. It seems PICS go down more frequently however.
