Have a FFL order you this for maybe a $30ish dollar fee
    https://palmettostatearmory.com/comp...c-edition.html

Buy a 10 dollar mag , 30 dollar rear sight or 50 dollar red dot ......

and for about 400 dollars , you'll be rolling in the dirt , screaming "I'm a lead farmer" in no time flat.

There will be sales tax ...... last I heard Active Junky gives you 6% off your PSA order ..... if that is still true ...... the sales tax gets canceled out.
Spend your other 200 bucks on ammo

    THIS!!! ^^^

That's a nice upper - midlength gas system - usually they only have the carbine length gas system at that price.

    Good entry level quality.

Another option is the S&W Sport II for $499.99 SHIPPED.
That's a pretty common sale price, so the free shipping is a bonus.

Unlikely you will do better at a gun show unless you find a guy walking around with a used one for sale - and he's desperate to sell.

Seriously though, asking if you can get a $500 AR15 at a gun show for $500 is like asking if you can get a $4 gallon of milk at a convenience store for $4.
The reality is that vendors need to make a profit. They aren't selling stuff cheaper at a gun show.

Not unless you have a time machine and can go back to before the internet existed.

I thought about building my own in the past. Now I'm going to have to think about it again. Thanks for the suggestion.

I talked to a co-worker and he said that he went to one of the shows in the past couple of years and he didn't find any really good offers on anything but accessories.

If you've never been to the Monroeville show, I'd recommend going at least once. There are two-three good vendors who typically set up at each show who sell AR uppers and build parts (no lowers).
I've also seen vendors selling virgin lowers in the $60-90 range and one or two selling complete lowers (can't recall prices).

I've also seen vendors selling AR's as low as $500-600 range, not to mention people walking around selling their rifles FTF.

Went to the Monroeville show this morning. Stopped to have breakfast first, figured I would let the early line subside. Wrong. Got there at 11:15 or so and still had to wait about 20 minutes to get a ticket and get in. Haven't seen Monroeville be this busy in a while.
It's a good show to pick up everything from 80% Glocks to AR15 build parts. Prices aren't super, but there were background checks being done all over the room. A few new dealers, room pretty much at dealer capacity. About the standard percentage mix of crap mixed in with gun vendors, but still a minority of tables selling stuff other than guns or gun related stuff. Like any show, you can't assume that because a dealer has a decent price on one thing that all his stuff is a comparable bargain. I actually only went to buy an AR short tactical case for my 7.62 x 39 AR pistol, and not a single case seller in the room. Usually at least two sellers of soft cases, this time none. Oh well. I did find a Dura Mag (made by C Products Defense) AR mag in 7.62x39 28 round mag that I bought for a few dollars more than the cheapest I could find online, but no biggie. Bought some brass cased 7.62x39 to run through the AR pistol too.
It was crowded. The main pet peeve of this show is the three or four different times I have to smell the STRONG weed smell of a few of the customers.
My favorite game is picking out the potential straw buyers. :-)

I did help a guy decide on which Sig MPX-P to buy from ScotsGuard's booth while I was there. He bought the 8 inch with the folding knuckle PSB.

Looking ahead at the Gun Show schedules it appears that both Monroeville and Washington County will be on April 4th and 5th? Should I assume one or the other will be changing?

IF any date changing was to happen, it would have happened by now.

The conflicting show dates in April really put vendors such as myself in a tough position. Many of us do both shows and it's a lousy choice to have to do make as both shows can be, and usually are, pretty good.
